Indianapolis Public Schools Makes Public Pledge to Expand Out-of-School Time Opportunities Across District by 2024-2025

November 10, 2023 (INDIANAPOLIS, IN) – Today, Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) announced the Engage Every Student Indianapolis initiative, a pledge made collaboratively with Central Indiana’s out-of-school time youth service providers to make high-quality before and after school programs accessible for all Pre-k through 5th grade IPS student who wants to participate. All students deserve the supports they need to realize their full potential, and safe, enriching, supervised environments between home and school are a critical piece in achieving that goal. This initiative is a call to action for current and new community partners to support the district with strong expanded learning programs to engage students in meaningful and relevant experiential learning opportunities that are culturally competent and responsive to the youth they serve. With meaningful collaboration, we can ensure that every IPS student who wants to participate in afterschool or summer programs has that opportunity.
